Jenne Greene has been named the JWOS Player of the Week for her efforts during week two of the FGCL summer season.

Greene pitches for the Manatee Squeeze and posted an undefeated 2-0 record during the season’s second week of play. She recorded eighteen strikeouts in twelve innings of work, allowing just six hits and two earned runs.

In a matchup against the Myakka City River Mocs, Greene threw a complete game, collecting nine strikeouts and holding the high-powered River Mocs offense to just two runs. She threw a first-pitch strike to 66% of the batters that she faced in the game.

On Friday, in a game against the Pioneers, Greene threw four no-hit innings, recording seven strikeouts and allowing just one walk. She again excelled in the category of first pitch strikes, throwing them to 80% of the batters that she faced. She was pulled from the game for load-management reasons, and earned her second win of the week in her team’s eventual 6-2 victory.

A freshman at Presbyterian College during the 2020 collegiate season, Greene made fifteen starts in the circle for the Blue Hose, recording a 13-2 record and a 1.24 ERA. She finished the abbreviated campaign with 128 strikeouts in 107 innings of work, and she led the Big South conference in seven statistical categories, including with an opponent’s batting average of .147.
