Former Tennessee pitcher Caylan Arnold is transferring to Florida State. The Seminoles announced the addition via Twitter on Saturday night. “Thrilled to announce the newest member of the Seminole family, Caylan Arnold!!” the FSU program wrote in a tweet posted Saturday evening. Arnold entered the NCAA’s transfer portal in late May after finishing the 2019 season in the Super Regional round with the Lady Vols. Green Bay has parted ways with head coach Scott Wachholz after three seasons. Wachholz posted a 27-95 overall record during his trio of seasons leading the Phoenix, including an 18-49 mark in Horizon League play. Jaycee Carter, a LSU-Eunice commit, passed away Thursday night at the age of 18. Carter was a recent graduate of Montgomery High School in Montgomery, Louisiana, and was to join LSUE in the fall to help the Bengals on their quest to repeat as NJCAA Division II national champions. ​A catcher, Carter led her Montgomery High team to the state tournament three years in a row and played in the LHSCA All-Star Game. A total of 78,361 fans watched the WCWS in-person at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, with an average of more than 8,700 fans in attendance per game. Rhode Island assistant coach Mary Holt-Kelsch has been promoted on the Rams’ coaching staff. Holt-Kelsch, now entering her fifth season at Rhode Island, will now hold the title of Associate Head Coach. Holt-Kelsch has been on Bridget Hurlman’s coaching staff since 2015, when Hurlman took the helm of the Rams. John Bargfeldt has resigned as the head coach at Tulsa, according to a school release Friday afternoon. Bargfeldt resigned “to pursue other opportunities”, according to the press release. Bargfeldt spent fourteen seasons at the helm of the Golden Hurricane program, leading his team to eleven NCAA tournament appearances during that time. During Bargfeldt’s tenure, his Tulsa squad won eight conference titles, while Bargfeldt owns the highest winning percentage in school history.
