Alabama ‘super senior’ slugger Bailey Hemphill recorded her 200th career RBI on Friday night in the Crimson Tide’s SEC opener against Auburn.
Hemphill is in her fifth season in Tuscaloosa, after taking advantage of the NCAA’s eligibility waiver and returning for the 2021 campaign. As the Tide standout celebrates her milestone achievement, let’s break down her achievement by the numbers.
1
The number of at-bats that it took Hemphill to record her first career RBI. As a true freshman in 2017, she hit a 3-run home run in the first at-bat of her career against Towson.
2
The number of players that have reached the 200-RBI threshold prior to Hemphill. Charlotte Morgan and Kaila Hunt are the only other Crimson Tide stars to reach that plateau.
7
The most RBIs that Hemphill has individually recorded in a single game during her college career. She did that just once, in a 2019 game against Murray State.
10
The number of times that Hemphill reached base during her record-setting weekend. She recorded four hits (4-6) to go along with four walks and a pair of hit-by-pitches.
54
The number of home runs hit by Hemphill during her career at Alabama; she has driven in herself so often, she personally accounts for more than 1/4 of her own career RBIs.
195
The number of walks earned by Hemphill during her career. The Tide slugger has recorded more than 50 walks in two separate seasons since she got to Tuscaloosa.
