Louisiana-Lafayette has signed Gerry Glasco to a contract extension through the 2025 season, the school announced on Monday.
Per a university press release, the extension takes Glasco’s contract through the 2025 season. The deal adds two years to Glasco’s original deal, which had been set to run through ’23.
“Gerry Glasco has provided tremendous leadership for our softball program, both on and off the field,”
Ragin’ Cajuns athletic director Bryan Maggard said in a statement. “We are extremely excited that both he and Vickie will remain a part of the Ragin’ Cajuns family for years to come.”
Glasco is entering his third season at the helm of the Ragin’ Cajuns, and owns a 93-22 overall record during his tenure at the helm of the Cajuns, including a 46-6 showing against Sun Belt Conference opponents.
In 2019, Glasco led the Cajuns to a 52-6 overall record, and the team finished with a perfect record in conference play, going 25-0 against league opponents. The squad combined a mix of homegrown players with high-profile transfers to earn a top-10 ranking for most of the season, but were not selected to host a regional and fell on the road in the regional round.
Prior to taking the helm in Lafayette, Glasco spent nine years in the SEC, serving on the coaching staffs at Georgia, Texas A&M, and Auburn. He also has coached three separate seasons in the National Pro Fastpitch league, winning the league championship each time.
