TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Oregon head coach Missy Lombardi has agreed to a contract extension with the Ducks, the school announced on Friday evening.
The new deal will run through the 2025 season, a two-year extension on Lombardi’s initial contract that was signed upon her hiring in 2018.
“Missy Lombardi is an excellent leader for the Oregon softball program who has built a program around the holistic student-athlete experience,” Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens said in a statement. “Missy has a strong ability to develop our softball student-athletes to their fullest potential, and we are excited at the trajectory of our program and the bright future on the horizon for Oregon softball under Missy’s leadership.”
During the 2021 season, Lombardi led the Ducks to a 40-14 overall record and reached the NCAA tournament for the first time in her tenure. The Ducks finished third in the PAC-12 this season and reached the winner-take-all final game of the Austin Regional final.
