All thirteen SEC softball teams will honor the legacy of Alex Wilcox and spotlight ovarian cancer awareness during league games on Saturday, March 20th.
“The SEC softball community will be united on March 20,” read a release from GeauxTeal, an ovarian cancer awareness effort piloted by some members of LSU softball’s staff.

Wilcox was a member of the Mississippi State softball team in 2018, and played the college softball season even while receiving treatment for ovarian cancer. Wilcox’s courageous fight and spirit inspired the nation, and continued to do so after cancer took her life in the summer of 2018.
Each of the thirteen league teams will wear teal or teal-accented uniforms on Saturday to honor and recognize Wilcox’s legacy on the softball world and to raise awareness for ovarian cancer. All thirteen SEC teams will wear All for Alex shirts during warm-ups on Saturday; the shirts were supplied to each program through the Geaux Teal Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation.
LSU head coach Beth Torina and Mississippi State head coach Samantha Ricketts helmed the organization of the campaign, which was ratified as an annual occurrence by the SEC coaches in 2019.
Saturday’s slate of SEC games includes five inter-conference matchups, as well as three non-conference matchups. Nearly all games will be televised or streamed, including two games on the SEC Network (Florida/Mississippi State and Missouri/Georgia at 2 and 4:30 pm Central time, respectively).
