Who is she? Tiffany McDonald, a former all-star pitcher for the Florida State Seminoles.
What is she known for? McDonald played for the Noles from 2005-08. She was named the ACC Freshman of the Year in ’05 and set a conference and program single-season record with more than 329 innings of work in her sophomore season. She twice earned all-conference honors, and at her career’s end, McDonald owned the Seminoles’ all-time record with 939 career strikeouts from the pitching circle.
Here’s something interesting… During and after her collegiate career, Tiffany played and coached at the international level. In 2006, as a sophomore, she suited up for Team Great Britain and later was a part of the coaching staff of the Dutch national team following her graduation.
Quotable quote: “I had an amazing time playing at Florida State, and by far my favorite memory was beating Georgia in the 2006 Regionals at Georgia to make it to Super Regionals in my sophomore year. It was an exhausting, but exhilarating weekend! I find that my memories aren’t about games, though, but spending time with my teammates traveling… you just can’t recreate those memories!”
What’s she up to now? Now Mrs. Kasdorf following her 2010 wedding, Tiffany is a mom of two and has taken a step back from private softball instruction to spend time and stay home with her children. She is part owner, with her husband, Derek, of Kasdorf Construction, a building company that works with remodeling and building custom homes.
