Quinnipiac has hired Bianka Bell as an assistant coach.

While an official press release has not been published, Bell appears on the team website as an assistant softball coach. Her hiring date is reflected as Monday, January 11th.

“I’m extremely humbled about this opportunity to represent Quinnipiac,” Bell said in a statement. “I’m ready to get to work with the girls as well as Hillary. I’ve heard many wonderful things about this program and I am excited be a part of it! Go Bobcats!”

Bell spent the past two years on staff at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, coaching on staff under former Alabama great Kelsi Dunne. She helped lead the Eagles to 44 wins during her tenure, including an 18-6 showing during the abbreviated 2020 season.

Prior to beginning her coaching career, Bell started 253 for the LSU Tigers, was a four-time All-SEC honoree, and earned a pair of All-American honors. She helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back Women’s College World Series appearances in 2015 and ’16, and earned All-Region honors in each year of her career. Following her collegiate playing career, she donned the red, white, and blue of Team USA for a time and won the 2015 World Cup of Softball with the USA Junior national team. She played several years of professional softball with the USSSA Pride, as well.

During the abbreviated 2020 season, Quinnipiac collected a 2-9 overall record with victories over Holy Cross and Central Michigan. The Bobcats finished with a .213 team batting average and twenty-three runs scored in 254 official at-bats.
