Lu Harris-Champer's retirement leaves the Bulldogs looking for a new head coach freshly off a surprise berth in the Women's College World Series. Harris-Champer led the Bulldogs to the WCWS five times during her 20-year tenure and was a three-time SEC Coach of the Year.
The Bulldogs are moving quickly in their search for a new head coach; athletic director Josh Brooks, in his current role just since January, pulled off quite a coup over the weekend with the hiring of Caryl Smith Gilbert as the Bulldogs' track and field coach. That move was announced less than one day after Smith Gilbert led USC to the women's outdoor national championship, which indicates that Brooks and UGA are prepared to make a splash in the coaching market across the board this summer.
Could one of these candidates be the next head coach of the Bulldogs?
