North Carolina State has hired Ketarah DeVries as the Wolfpack’s pitching coach, sources confirmed to JWOS on Saturday.
DeVries spent the last two seasons as the pitching coach at Seton Hall, guiding the Pirates’ pitching staff to a 4.94 ERA and 161 strikeouts in 205.2 innings of work during the 2021 season. The team’s pitching staff notched a 1.75 WHIP and a strikeout/walk ratio just shy of 2/1.
Prior to her tenure at Seton Hall, DeVries spent two years on staff at Bucknell and led the Bison’s pitching and defensive efforts. She tutored a first-team all-conference selection during her first season and led the Bison staff to a 2.71 ERA as a unit in her second season with the program. DeVries also spent the 2017 season as an assistant and interim head coach at Highland Community College.
As a player, DeVries played for now-NC State head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift at Saint Francis. DeVries was a two-time All-Northeast Conference selection during her playing days and helped lead the Red Flash to a conference title in 2017.
