Virginia Tech ace pitcher Carrie Eberle has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.
Sources informed JWOS that Eberle entered the portal on Wednesday morning. A 2020 senior, Eberle graduated from Virginia Tech this spring, earning her degree in three years.
As a freshman in 2017, Eberle posted a 3.42 ERA and seventy-nine strikeouts, earning a nomination to the ACC’s All-Freshman team. In 2018, Eberle earned second-team all-conference and all-region honors after posting a 1.72 ERA and .182 opponent’s batting average, both marks that finished in the top three in the ACC statistical standings.
In 2019, her junior season, Eberle started thirty-two games for the Hokies and was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year after the season. Eberle posted a 25-8 overall record, with a 1.84 ERA and 164 strikeouts, as she helped the Hokies to the ACC regular-season championship.
Virginia Tech finished the 2019 season with a 47-11 overall record, including a 20-4 mark in conference play.
