Megan Brown has been named the new head coach at Longwood.
Brown spent the abbreviated 2020 season as the pitching coach at Cal, leading the Bears’ pitching staff to a 5.71 ERA and an opponent’s batting average of .281 during the campaign.
Prior to her single season at Cal, Brown spent four years on staff at Boston College. The Eagles’ staff led the ACC in strikeouts in 2016 and ’17, and she spent a short period of time as the program’s interim head coach in 2019 during a coaching search.
Brown’s coaching resume also includes single-season stints at Akron and UConn, as well as shortened tenures at UNC-Pembroke and Auburn.
Longwood finished the 2020 season with a 10-11 overall record; the Lancers’ pitching staff finished the shortened season with a 4.01 ERA.
