Former Texas State assistant Peejay Brun will be the new head coach at UT-Arlington, the school announced.
Brun spent 2017 in a single-season stint at Texas State, her second tenure at the school in the last decade. Prior to her most recent time at Texas State, Brun spent two seasons at Hawaii-Hilo, where she collected sixty-three wins over the pair of years.
In addition to her time at Texas State and Hawaii-Hilo, Brun’s coaching resume also includes stops at Cal State-Dominguez Hills and Siena College, the latter as head coach. She served eight years as an assistant coach at Texas State during her first tenure at the school.
In Arlington, Prun takes over the helm of a program that posted a 32-28 overall record in 2017, including a 14-13 mark in Sun Belt conference play. The Mavericks were eliminated in the Sun Belt conference tournament semifinals and went 0-2 in the NISC postseason tournament to end their season.
