Former Valdosta State star Marti Littlefield has been announced as a member of the Gulf South Conference’s induction class of 2018.

A former starting shortstop for the Blazers from 2009-2012, Littlefield was three times named an all-American during her career at Valdosta State. She earned the Gulf South’s Freshman of the Year honor in 2009 and earned first-team all-conference honors in each of her four years as a Blazer.

Littlefield owns the VSU single-season RBI record with an incredible 103 runs batted in as a freshman in ’09. She ranks in the all-time top five in four different statistical categories for the program, including home runs (56) and total bases (525).

A part of the 2012 national championship-winning squad, Littlefield helped lead her team to four consecutive conference championships and two NCAA regional championships. The Blazers additionally finished as the D2 runners-up in 2010.

Joining Littlefield in induction in 2018 will be Suzana Cavalcante (tennis); Brandon Dill (baseball); Douglas Hargett (baseball); and Marcus Kennedy (basketball). The quintet will be inducted in a ceremony in Pensacola, Florida on May 30th.
