Legendary Missouri pitcher Chelsea Thomas will be inducted into the program’s athletics Hall of Fame later this fall.
Thomas was a three-time first-team all-American selection during her Missouri career that stretched from 2009-2013, the only Tiger to receive a first-team nomination on three different occasions during her career.
The Big 12’s Pitcher of the Year in 2011 and 2012, Thomas’ success carried over after her program transitioned into the SEC, winning that conference’s Pitcher of the Year trophy in 2013. During her playing career, Missouri reached the Women’s College World Series three times, in 2009, ‘10, and ‘11.
At the conclusion of her collegiate playing career, Thomas held a number of pitching records in the program’s record books, including most career wins (111) and strikeouts (1,174). She threw ten no-hitters, eight of them solo, and three solo perfect games during her career as a Tiger. She finished her career with a lifetime 1.23 ERA.
Joining Thomas in induction in the Class of 2018 are Dominique Bouchard (swimming); Marcus Denmon (basketball); Lorraine Ferret (basketball); Mike Magac (football); and Glenn Ogden (track & field/cross country).
The group of six will be inducted in a celebratory ceremony on October 19th and honored at the Missouri/Memphis football games the following day.
