Brandi Stuart will join the athletic administration at Texas Tech, the school announced on Tuesday evening. Stuart will hold the titles of Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator.
“Well, now that it’s Twitter official, I can share my excitement in joining the [Texas Tech] family and the opportunity to contribute to the success of Red Raider Nation!” Stuart wrote on Twitter following the official announcement.
Stuart, a former softball player, most recently was part of the athletic administration at UCF, where she held a variety of titles since her arrival in Orlando in 2015. She also served as the Knights’ SWA during her tenure. Prior to UCF, Stuart served two different stints at Florida State, rising as high as the Interim SWA position with the Seminoles’ athletic program. She also spent time at Alabama, the ACC, and the California Interscholastic Federation.
The 2020 season would have marked Stuart’s second as the chairperson of the Division I NCAA Softball Committee. The non-existent postseason and ultimately cancelled season was also Stuart’s last on the Selection Committee. During her time at Florida State, Stuart spent a previous 2-year stint on the Committee.
A former softball player at Florida State, Stuart was inducted into the Seminoles Hall of Fame in 2015. She was a first-team All-American in 2002 and earned second-team All-American honors in ’03. A three-time all-Region selection, Stuart is one of just two players in program history to earn all-conference honors in each year of her career. Stuart helped lead the ‘Noles to the Women’s College World Series in 2002, and was named to the ACC’s 50th Anniversary Softball Team in 2002.
