Former all-SEC utility player Brooke Vines has left the Lady Vols program.
Vines has been removed from the softball program’s 2019 roster on the team’s website, and a team spokesman confirmed her departure.
A member of the USA Women’s Elite Team in 2016, Vines earned all-region honors in her freshman season that same year and was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team. She ended her inaugural collegiate season with a slash line of .360/.457/.416.
In her sophomore campaign, Vines finished fourth in the SEC with fifty-nine RBIs. She was named to the all-SEC second team and additionally earned second team all-Region honors, ending the year with a .385 batting average and a career-high .524 slugging percentage.
An injury caused Vines to miss a significant portion of the 2018 season, as she ultimately appeared in just fifteen games on the year.
