Former Texas A&M outfielder Sarah Hudek will transfer to Louisiana-Lafayette and join the Ragin’ Cajuns, she announced via Twitter on Monday night.
Hudek gained her release from the Aggies program last week, and it did not take her long to find her new destination. In her post on Twitter, Hudek said, “I am excited to announce I’ll be a Ragin’ Cajun this spring! Couldn’t be more excited and grateful to have the opportunity to be part of this awesome program and community. Ready to get to work and make a run for OKC in the red & black.”
During her two years at Texas A&M, Hudek earned all-freshman honors in 2017 and was named to the all-region third team in 2018. Hudek batted .329 through her time as an Aggie, with twelve home runs and sixty-seven RBI. She posted a .529 slugging percentage and worked to a .407 on-base percentage in her pair of seasons in College Station. A defensive rock, she committed just three errors from the outfield.
Prior to joining the Aggies to play softball, Hudek played a single season of baseball at Bossier Parish Community College in Louisiana, where she pitched twenty innings over thirteen appearances. Hudek was named the 2014 USA Baseball Sportswoman of the Year and played in the Women’s Baseball World Cup as a pitcher.
Hudek is the latest high-profile transfer to join the Ragin’ Cajuns this offseason, and the second to come from Texas A&M, following fellow outfielder Keeli Milligan. Both are rejoining Cajuns head coach Gerry Glasco, who was an assistant and the offensive coach at Texas A&M from 2015-17. Other high-profile transfers to join the Cajuns since the end of the 2018 season include former Toledo slugger Bailey Curry; and former Southland Conference standouts Kendall Talley (Lamar) and Julie Rawls (Northwestern State).
