TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Former Tennessee pitcher Callie Turner is transferring to Arkansas, the school announced on Thursday.
Turner, who spent the last two seasons at Tennessee, has three years of eligibility remaining. She will be immediately eligible under the one-time transfer exemption adopted by the SEC earlier this year.
During her career as a Lady Vol, Turner posted an 18-10 overall record, with a 2.50 ERA and 103 strikeouts. She served as the de facto ace of the staff in 2020, following injury to Ashley Rogers, and led the staff in nearly every category, including with a 2.67 ERA and 72 strikeouts on the year. In 2021, she pitched 76.2 innings and collected a 2.28 ERA and a .203 opponent’s batting average.
In 2019, Turner was a member of the US Junior National Team, where she helped lead the squad to a bronze medal in the International Cup.
At Arkansas, Turner joins a staff that played a significant role in the Razorbacks’ first-ever regular season conference title this season.
