Seton Hall has hired Ketarah Devries as the program’s new pitching coach, the school announced late last week.
Devries spent the last two seasons on staff at Bucknell, where she also tutored the Bison pitching staff.
During her tenure at Bucknell, Devries shepherded pitcher Raeanne Geffert to back-to-back all-conference selections, including a first-team nod in 2018. The Bison posted a 2.71 cumulative team ERA in 2019 under Devries’ guidance, with twenty-eight wins and 227 strikeouts on the year.
Prior to joining the staff at Bucknell, Devries spent a single season on the coaching staff at Highland Community College, serving as an assistant coach and interim head coach for that program.
As a player, Devries starred for the Saint Francis Red Flash, including helping the squad to the 2017 conference title with an undefeated record against league foes. She was twice named a first-team all-conference performer, and ended her career as the program’s all-time record holder in pitching wins and appearances in the circle.
She joins a Seton Hall program that finished the 2019 season with a 24-24 overall record, including a 10-9 mark in Big East conference play. The Pirates missed the conference tournament by mere fractions of a percentage point, ending their season. The squad ended the campaign with a team batting average of .277 and thirty-five home runs, while the Pirate pitching staff posted a cumulative ERA of 4.28 with 250 strikeouts and a .297 opponent’s batting average.
