Tennessee Tech head coach Bonnie Bynum Graham has resigned as head coach of the Golden Eagles.
Graham spent seven seasons as the Golden Eagles’ leader, collecting a 153-213 overall record, with a 78-84 record against Ohio Valley Conference opponents. Tennessee Tech reached the 2015 NCAA tournament under Graham’s guidance after winning the OVC tournament as the 4th-seeded team.
A Tennessee Tech press release on Thursday noted that Graham intends to remain in Cookeville, though not at TTU, as she has taken a position with Cookeville Leisure Services that will allow her to spend more time with her family.
In 2017, Graham was inducted into the Tennessee Tech Hall of Fame for her endeavors during her playing career that stretched from 2004-07. Graham holds a number of program pitching records, including wins (103), strikeouts (1,021), and innings pitched (994 1/3). A four-time all-conference honoree, Graham earned the Ohio Valley’s Pitcher of the Year honor in 2006 and ’07, and was the OVC’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2006.
Prior to taking the helm as head coach at TTU, Graham spent five years on the coaching staff at Western Kentucky and a single season as an assistant coach in Cookeville in 2012.
Carly Van Auken, an assistant coach for two years on Graham’s staff, has been named interim head coach while a search is conducted.
