Head coach Larissa Anderson made the announcement on Tuesday, stating via Twitter, “”Well deserved promotion! Congrats [Chris Malveaux] on being promoted to Associate Head Coach. Way to own your role!”
Malveaux joined Anderson’s staff last summer, and helped engineer a swift turnaround in the team’s offense. The Tigers hit .284 as a team, boasting four players over the .300 mark on the year. A trio of players reached double-digits in home runs, including Kimberly Wert, whose nineteen longballs led the team and tied for 18th overall in the nation.
Five players posted an OPS over .900 in Malveaux’s offense in 2019, including freshman sensation Jazmyn Rollin, who led the team with a 1.067 mark.
Before joining the staff at Missouri, Malveaux spent the 2018 season in a support staff role at Kansas. His resume also includes assistant coaching stints at Louisiana-Lafayette, Bradley, and McNeese State, as well as a four-year tenure as head coach at McNeese.
