UT-Arlington and head coach Peejay Brun have agreed to a contract extension through the 2022 season.
Brun completed her second season at the program’s helm in 2019, when she led the Mavericks to the National Invitational Softball Championship title. The program’s thirty-six wins during the championship season marked the highest single-season win total in more than a decade.
The Mavs offense set five single-season program records during the 2019 season, including total bases and hits. The squad posted four wins over ranked Power Five teams, including a win over eventual Women’s College World Series-participant Oklahoma State.
After two seasons under Brun’s leadership, the Mavericks own a 66-55 overall record, as well as a 31-22 mark in Sun Belt conference play.
Prior to taking the helm at UT-Arlington, Brun had two separate stints as an assistant coach at Texas State; her resume also includes time as the head coach at Hawaii-Hilo and Siena College.
