Jeff Tylka will not return as head coach of Loyola Chicago in 2020, a university spokesperson confirmed to JWOS this week.
In a single-sentence statement, the spokesperson said, “Coach Tylka will not be returning to lead our program in 2020.”
Tylka spent five seasons at the helm of the Ramblers, collecting a 111-141 record during his tenure, including a 37-89 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Ramblers twice met or surpassed the .500 mark with their overall record, including a 25-25 showing during the 2019 season.
Before being named to the head coaching position, Tylka spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Ramblers, working primarily with the program’s offense. During his time as an assistant, the program twice played in the conference championship game.
Prior to his tenure on staff at Loyola Chicago, Tylka served as the head coach at Antioch High School and spent several years coaching at the travel ball level.
