Lenti spent more than three decades as the head coach at DePaul, a tenure that ended following the 2018 season. Lenti boasts more than 1,300 wins in his career and led DePaul to the Women’s College World Series four times.
During Lenti’s 3+ decades at the program’s helm, the Blue Demons made twenty appearances in the NCAA tournament, including the quartet of WCWS appearances and with back-to-back tournament berths in 2017 and ’18.
In 2006, Lenti was inducted into the DePaul Athletics Hall of Fame, at that time being one of just six coaches inducted into the school’s Hall of Honor. Before taking the helm at DePaul in the 1980s, Lenti was an English teacher and Chairman of a high school English department.
Auburn finished the 2019 season with a 39-21 overall record, including a 10-14 conference record. The Tigers made a run to the SEC tournament semifinals and were named to the NCAA tournament with an at-large bid. The Tigers hit .286 as a team in ’19, with sixty-six home runs. Lenti will fill the role vacated by former assistant coach Eddy Ketelhut.
