Former Texas A&M slugger Tori Vidales has joined the SEC Network as a softball analyst.
Vidales announced the news on her personal Twitter account on Monday, saying “”Here I come @SECNetwork – Excited to join the SEC Now segment as a softball analyst!”
In joining the ESPN-backed network, Vidales will contribute to coverage of a plethora of teams that she should be quite familiar with from her playing days at Texas A&M; Vidales’ playing career ended in 2018 after her senior season. Other analysts who regularly appear on SEC Now and in appearances on the SEC Network’s conference-wide coverage include the likes of Amanda Scarborough; Jenny Dalton-Hill; Madison Shipman; and Kayla Braud.
The position is the first of Vidales’ budding broadcasting career; it is the first full-time position in the media realm after her graduation in 2018. She has previously served as a color commentator for various games presented via online broadcast.
As a player, VIdales was one of the best hitters in Aggies history, earning a pair of all-American awards during her career that spanned from 2015-18. Vidales finished her playing career with her name atop a trio of Aggie program records, including career RBI (219) and runs scored (198). She hit sixty-five home runs during her career, good enough for second all-time in A&M history, and finished her career with a .694 slugging percentage and a .355 batting average.
The SEC’s official website lists SEC Now as “… SEC Network’s flagship news and information show delivering the latest Southeastern Conference news live from a studio set in Charlotte, N.C. The show… includes a rotating panel of network analysts discussing what’s happening now across SEC sports.”
