New Mexico State head coach Kathy Rodolph earned her 500th win during her tenure at New Mexico State on Friday night.
Rodolph, who has led the Aggies since 2003, led her team to a 13-4 run-rule victory over Bradley to reach the milestone. The victory also kept the Aggies undefeated at 2-0 on the 2020 season.
Now in her sixteenth season as the Aggies’ head coach, Rodolph led her Aggies to four consecutive conference regular-season championships from 2015-18 and reached the NCAA tournament twice during that same span. The Aggies finished as WAC runners-up in both the regular season standings and in the conference tournament in 2019.
“Pretty special,” Rodolph said after the game in describing the milestone victory. “This is a unique group to do it with. When you get 500 wins, it really means that you’ve had some phenomenal young ladies that want to play for you. I’m extremely honored. To every single kid I’ve had the opportunity to coach: ‘Thank you.'”
Prior to assuming the helm at New Mexico State in 2003, Rodolph spent two years as the head coach at El Paso Community College and three years as head coach at Division II Angelo State.
