Georgia Tech head coach Aileen Morales has been elected to the program’s Hall of Fame for her accomplishments during her playing career.
Morales starred on the diamond for the Yellow Jackets from 2005-08, earning a trio of All-Conference honors during her collegiate career. During her freshman season, Morales was named the ACC’s Co-Freshman of the Year and earned second-team all-conference honors.
A third-team All-American selection, Morales still holds four career records for the program, including the all-time marks in games played; games started; at-bats; and stolen bases. She also stands in the program’s top 10 in career runs scored; hits; doubles; and triples.
She set the single-season stolen base record as a senior, swiping 46 bags that year. She led the Yellow Jackets to the NCAA tournament during each of her four seasons. Hired as the head coach at her alma mater in 2017, she is entering her fourth season at the program’s helm during the 2021 season.
Joining Morales in induction as part of the Class of 2020 are Morgan Burnett (football); Amanda McDowell (tennis); Chesson Hadley (golf); Deck McGuire (baseball); Gal Nevo (swimming); and George O’Leary (football coach). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the group will not be officially inducted until the fall of 2021.
