Abilene Christian has named Abigail Farler as the Wildcats’ new head coach.
Farler spent the last three seasons as the head coach at NAIA Corban University, compiling a 120-44 overall record and becoming the fastest coach in athletic department history – in any sport – to reach the 100-win mark. She led the Warriors to the NAIA National Tournament in each of her three seasons at the helm, including finishing as National Runner-Up at the NAIA World Series in 2017.
During that 2017 season, her first year leading the program, Farler led the Warriors to a conference regular-season championship and, ultimately, the highest-ever postseason finish in program history, as the national runners-up. The Warriors ended the 2019 season with a 37-16 overall record, including a 19-8 conference mark.
Prior to her tenure at Corban, Farler spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Western Oregon University. Her resume also includes a stint as an assistant coach at the Colorado School of Mines and at the high school level. A Marshall Thundering Herd alum, Farler earned all-conference honors as a player and later went on to play professionally overseas in the Netherlands.
Abilene Christian finished the 2019 season with a 13-31 overall record, including a 6-21 mark in Southland Conference play. ACU finished the season with a .263 team batting average and 5.83 cumulative ERA from their pitching staff.
