TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Patrick Murphy and Alabama have agreed to a contract extension, according to a report from UA’s Sports Illustrated affiliate site.
Murphy was one of a dozen Crimson Tide coaches who had a contract extension ratified by the University of Alabama system’s Board of Trustees earlier this week. Also earning extensions were Alabama’s football, baseball, and women’s basketball head coaches.
According to the report, Murphy’s new deal will run through the 2026 season. His contract was extended three years from its current length. He will make an annual base salary of $275,000 with a “talent fee” that rises for the first three years of the deal and plateaus for the final two years.
The Crimson Tide’s leader for 23 seasons, Murphy is one of two SEC coaches to lead his program to a national championship. The Crimson Tide have reached the NCAA tournament annually for more than two decades straight, appeared in thirteen Women’s College World Series’, and earned eleven Regional Coaching Staff of the Year awards.
