TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Former Oklahoma pitcher Alanna Thiede is transferring to UNLV, the school announced on social media on Tuesday.
“Here’s to a new chapter. I couldn’t be more excited!” Thiede added in an Instagram post of her own.
Thiede was one of six members of Oklahoma’s 2021 national championship team to enter the portal after the Sooners clinched the Women’s College World Series title in early June. Thiede entered the portal on June 18th, and is the fourth member of that group to commit to a new school.
During the 2021 season, Thiede collected a 4.35 ERA in nine relief appearances. She did record a win, finished the year with 10.1 innings pitched, and collected seven strikeouts. In 2020, Thiede had a 7.00 ERA in three innings across three appearances.
UNLV’s addition of Thiede is the Rebels’ second major transfer addition of the summer; former NC State slugger April Visser announced plans to transfer to Las Vegas earlier in the summer.
