Boise State is set to add Allie Walljasper as their new assistant coach, sources confirmed to JWOS on Monday.
Walljasper will serve as the Broncos’ pitching coach, per sources. Her hiring will finalize the inaugural coaching staff under first-year head coach Justin Shults.
An assistant coach at North Dakota State for the last two seasons, Walljasper guided the Bison pitching staff to a 4.12 team ERA and 234 strikeouts on the year in more than 300 innings of work as a unit. In 2020, the squad owned an identical 4.12 ERA prior to the season’s abrupt cancellation.
Prior to her tenure at NDSU, Walljasper spent the 2019 season as a student-assistant coach at LSU, her alma mater. A 2018 Tigers alumnus, Walljasper ended her career with 64 wins and a career 1.56 ERA. She was a 3-time All-American during her playing career and helped guide the Tigers to a trio of Women’s College World Series appearances.
During the 2021 season, Boise State’s pitching staff posted twenty wins and a 3.48 team ERA.
