Andy Lee has been named the new head coach at Northwest Florida State College, an NJCAA Division I program, the school announced earlier in June.
Lee spent the last eleven seasons as the head coach at LSU-Eunice, an NJCAA Division II school in Louisiana. Lee turned the Bengals into a perennial championship contender and postseason powerhouse, with nine NJCAA national tournament appearances and six national championships to the program’s credit during his tenure.
During his tenure at LSU-E, Lee amassed a 582-107 overall record and led the program to the national championship in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019.
Prior to his time at LSU-E, Lee spent three seasons as the head coach Hinds Community College, collecting a 92-65 overall record with the Eagles.
A former collegiate baseball player, Lee played two seasons of professional baseball in the Boston Red Sox organization. His father is Bill “Spaceman” Lee, on whom the 2016 film Spaceman was based.
Northwest Florida State College finished the 2019 season with a 24-26 overall record, including an 8-11 conference record.
