Auburn infielder Makenna Dowell entered the NCAA’s transfer portal on Monday morning, sources confirmed to JWOS.
Dowell has started every game for the Tigers this season, and currently ranks third on the team with a .294 batting average. Her eighteen RBIs lead the team, as do her eighteen walks.
In 2020, Dowell started every game at shortstop for the Tigers and posted a .346 batting average with a .494 slugging percentage. The abbreviated season was her first “full” year as an every day starter.
A true senior, Dowell has a single season of eligibility remaining following this year, thanks to the NCAA’s extended eligibility waiver last spring.
For her career, Dowell owns a .269 batting average with 39 runs scored, 42 RBIs, and 36 walks in 141 games.
