The Hofstra Pride have announced Jay Miller as the program’s next head coach. Miller is a victor of more than 1,000 games as a head coach, including at Missouri; Mississippi State; and NAIA Oklahoma City. He boasts a career record of 1004-668 and has led teams to thirteen appearances in the NCAA tournament, including a pair of Women’s College World Series appearances. Former Texas A&M speedster Keeli Milligan has made a decision on her new home, as she will transfer to Louisiana-Lafayette, sources have confirmed to Justin’s World of Softball. Milligan announced earlier in June that she would be leaving the Aggies program following the completion of her junior season in 2018. She received her release from Texas A&M and will be eligible to play immediately in 2019 at Louisiana-Lafayette. Ball State has signed head coach Megan Bartlett to a contract extension that will stretch through the 2021 season. The 2018 season was the Cardinals’ best during Bartlett’s three-year tenure as head coach, as the program posted a 37-19 overall record and earned a share of the MAC West Division title with a 16-7 conference mark. Bartlett owns a career 89-79 record at Ball State, the first head coaching position of her storied career. What is she known for? One of the top players at her position during her time as a Terp, Bustillos also ended her playing career as one of the best hitters in Maryland program history. Mike White has been named the new head coach at Texas, a move that was first brought to you by Justin’s World of Softball. The Oregon head coach leaves the Ducks after a nine-year tenure that included five PAC-12 conference championships, including the 2018 title. The Ducks were the #1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament this postseason, and were eliminated in the second round of the Women’s College World Series. Oregon made five WCWS appearances under White, including in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2017 in addition to their ’18 berth. Mississippi State’s Alex Wilcox has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 18 years old. Wilcox was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015 and joined Mississippi State as a freshman outfielder for the 2018 season. Playing sparingly, as she continued to receive treatments for the cancer, Wilcox earned fifteen at-bats in eight games in her sole season as a Bulldog, collecting three hits. James Madison and head coach Loren LaPorte have agreed to a four-year contract extension that will last through June of 2022. LaPorte took over as interim head coach of the Dukes following previous head coach Mickey Dean’s departure to become head coach at Auburn. The interim tag was taken off of LaPorte’s title in December as she received a short-term contract that was scheduled to run through the end of June.
