Former San Diego State catcher Jenavee Peres is joining UCLA for the 2020 season. Peres joins the Bruins as a graduate transfer with one season of eligibility remaining. She last played for San Diego State during the 2017 season. In her three years at SDSU, Peres set a number of program records, including the Aztecs’ career batting average mark with her .409 clip. She also set the on-base percentage (.466) and slugging percentage (.743) records, ranking in the top ten in program history in an additional four categories. A look back at 2019 The 2019 season saw the Ragin’ Cajuns post a 52-6 overall record, including a perfect conference record at 25-0. The Cajuns lost just one game at home on the year, an 11-inning non-conference affair against McNeese. Starting the season on a 14-0 run, the Cajuns made quick work of most of their early-season, non-conference opponents, including PAC-12 foes California and Oregon State. I. 2019 Recap Sam Houston State won the Southland’s regular-season crown in 2019, later moving through the conference tournament to secure the championship and, with it, the league’s automatic berth into the NCAA tournament. UNLV assistant coach Andy Jarvis has been promoted to the title of associate head coach, the school announced on Friday. Jarvis has spent the past two seasons on the Rebels’ coaching staff, serving under head coach Kristie Fox, who is also his wife. Since the pair arrived in Las Vegas, the Rebels have seen enormous success, including an NISC tournament berth in 2018 and being named as one of the ‘first four out’ of last year’s NCAA tournament. A look back at 2019 The Wolverines finished the 2019 season with a 45-13 overall record, along with a 22-1 conference showing. The team went 17-2 at home, and won 75% of their true road games. Allyson Fournier enjoyed one of the most remarkable collegiate softball careers in recent memory. A 2015 graduate of Tufts University, Fournier led her team to three Division III National Championships, a run that included a perfect 51-0 campaign her senior year. During that perfect season, Fournier posted a 35-0 record; notched five no-hitters; and set the Division III record for consecutive scoreless innings, surpassing the previous record by thirty innings. A look back at 2019 During the 2019 season – Pete D’Amour’s first as head coach – the Hokies posted a 47-11 overall record, with a 20-4 conference mark.
