The Bradenton Lynx on Tuesday became the fourth Florida Gulf Coast League team to announce their roster for the 2020 summer season.
In the first year of sponsoring a softball summer league after previously beginning a similar baseball offering, the FGCL announced last week an amended summer schedule, with the season set to begin on June 18th due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league is comprised of six teams, with players coming from active rosters on a variety of collegiate levels.
Santa Fe College head coach Lindsay Fico serves as the Lynx’s head coach; Fico owns a 39-42 overall record in two years at SFC. A former infielder at Florida during her playing career, Fico was elected as a team co-captain in her senior year.
Fourteen schools are represented on the Lynx’s 15-member roster, a number that includes both active players and incoming signees. Florida Atlantic is the only school with a pair of representatives on the squad, in pitcher Abigail Morgan and signee Jaylnn Ford.
Texas A&M catcher Haley Lee, UCF outfielder Kasey Fava, and newly-transferred Virginia Tech utility player Morgan Overaitis headline the roster. In total, eleven Division I schools; two Division II schools; and one junior college are represented on the Lynx. The full roster is listed below.
