Candi Letts will not return as head coach at Idaho State.
Letts finished her fourth season leading the Bengals with the conclusion of the 2019 season, collecting a 79-111 overall record during her tenure. The squad went 38-38 in Big Sky conference matchups in her four years at the helm.
In a news release referenced by the Idaho State Journal, Idaho State athletic director Pauline Semons Thiros was quoted as stating, “In evaluating the comprehensive state of ISU women’s softball, it is in the best interest of the program to make a change. We appreciate coach Letts’ passionate investment in the program and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
The Bengals posted a 20-27 overall record during the 2019 season, including a 10-7 mark in conference play. Earning the #2 seed in the Big Sky conference tournament, the Bengals went 0-2 and were eliminated from the postseason.
In her head coaching career, Letts owns a 493-632-1 record. Prior to taking the helm at Idaho State, Letts spent eighteen seasons as a head coach at various programs, including Colorado State, Ole Miss, Utah State, and Fairleigh Dickinson.
