Caty Reeves has been named the new assistant coach at Abilene Christian.
The Ole Miss Spirit made note of Reeves’ hiring in an interview with Ole Miss interim head coach Ruben Felix on Tuesday. Sources close to the Abilene Christian program later confirmed the hire to JWOS.
Prior to her time on staff at Ole Miss, Reeves spent six years as the head coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan, an NAIA school. She earned 185 wins as the Eagles’ head coach, while her players earned thirty-one all-conference honors under her tutelage.
A Cal Baptist alum, Reeves also spent a single season on staff at McNeese State in 2012. During her playing career at Cal Baptist, Reeves helped lead the Lancers to more than 250 victories and was part of the 2009 squad that won the NAIA National Championship.
The Abilene Christian Wildcats finished the 2019 season with a 13-31 overall record, including a 6-21 mark in Southland Conference play. The Wildcats made a coaching change over the summer, hiring Abigail Farler, who will enter the 2020 campaign in her first season as head coach.
