TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Georgia head coach Tony Baldwin has found his pitching coach.
Program alumnus Chelsea Wilkinson will serve as Baldwin’s second assistant and work with the team’s pitching staff, sources confirmed to JWOS. Wilkinson most recently had agreed to become the pitching coach for the Ragin Cajuns.
Earlier this summer, JWOS exclusively reported that Wilkinson had agreed to become the pitching coach at Louisiana-Lafayette. Wilkinson informally joined the Ragin Cajuns’ staff this summer, though an official announcement was never made. She elected to depart Lafayette without having coached a game in order to accept the role at her alma mater.
Wilkinson spent the last three years as the pitching coach at NC State, working with the Wolfpack pitchers and helping guide the program to the ACC tournament quarterfinals in 2021. Her coaching resume also includes one year as a graduate assistant at South Carolina in 2018.
Formerly an assistant within the program himself, Baldwin was elevated to the Bulldogs’ head coaching role following Lu Harris-Champer’s retirement in early June.
