TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Delaware State has named Daniel Stockdale as the program’s new head coach.
Stockdale most recently spent 2017-20 working at Georgia State, serving as the Panthers’ pitching coach from 2018 to the end of his tenure with the program. He did not coach collegiately during the 2021 campaign.
“Coach Stockdale stood out among a host of outstanding candidates for the DSU head softball coach position,” Delaware State athletic director Alecia Shields-Gadson said in a statement. “His wide ranging experience, record of success on and off the field, along with his vision for the student-athletes and the program are in line with those of the university and athletics department.”
Prior to Georgia State, Stockdale’s coaching resume includes two years at Memphis, as well as a stint as head baseball coach at Division II Albany State. He previously served as a collegiate assistant baseball coach and as a high school head coach.
Delaware State quietly parted ways with former head coach Jeff Franquet earlier in July. The Hornets posted an 11-20 overall record during the 2021 season, with a 7-9 showing in conference play.
