Devin Brown Lowe is no longer on the Southern Miss coaching staff, a school spokesperson confirmed to JWOS.
Lowe was hired as the program’s pitching coach this fall under first-year head coach Brian Levin. A South Alabama alum, the position was Lowe’s first collegiate coaching gig since graduating from South Alabama in 2018.
In a school statement at the time of Lowe’s hiring, Levin noted Lowe’s character, knowledge of the game, and experiences and successes as a player as prominent traits that made her an attractive candidate for the job.
A three-time all-Sun Belt selection during her playing career at South Alabama, Lowe went on to play professionally in both the National Pro Fastpitch and American Softball Association leagues.
The dismissal leaves Southern Miss with just one assistant coach, Mark Mulvany, under Levin.
