Allyson Fournier enjoyed one of the most remarkable collegiate softball careers in recent memory. A 2015 graduate of Tufts University, Fournier led her team to three Division III National Championships, a run that included a perfect 51-0 campaign her senior year.
During that perfect season, Fournier posted a 35-0 record; notched five no-hitters; and set the Division III record for consecutive scoreless innings, surpassing the previous record by thirty innings. To call Fournier’s 2015 season the best in Division III history would not be an overestimation; to call her career one that should have gained far more attention than it did would be an understatement.
For her career, Fournier assembled a win-loss record of 111-5, good enough for a .957 winning percentage. Her career statistics included a 0.44 ERA; 1,315 strikeouts; sixteen career no-hitters; and six career perfect games. Her winning percentage and ERA are all-time bests in Division III, while her sixteen career no-hitters are an NCAA record.
A four-time first-team All-American selection, Fournier went on to play professionally with the Pennsylvania Rebellion of the National Pro Fastpitch league.
Not to be lost amongst her many accomplishments on the softball field, Fournier majored in chemical engineering and spent her first two collegiate years as part of the Tufts women’s swimming team.
In 2015, she was named the Honda DIII Athlete of the Year, her second time securing the award. One of the greatest softball players of all-time, Fournier is unquestionably our Division III Player of the Decade for the 2010s.
