Sisters Eliyah and Alycia Flores no longer appear on the Oklahoma softball roster.
As of Thursday, neither of the Flores sisters had entered their names in the NCAA’s transfer portal, sources confirmed to JWOS. An OU spokesperson had no comment when contacted by JWOS.
Eliyah Flores, a “super sophomore” who was the Sooners’ every day starter at third base in 2020, owns a .224 career batting average in 147 career at-bats. She was a spot-starter and frequent mid-inning replacement during her first two years in Norman before earning a starting spot with the 2020 season. She batted .167 with two home runs in her first year as a full-time starter.
Younger sister Alycia, who was a true freshman during the 2020 season, batted .304 on the year with fourteen hits in forty-six at-bats. She recorded a stat line of .304/.435/.407 and hit her first – and, to date, only – career home run against Murray State less than a week before the 2020 season ended.
According to their respective Oklahoma biographies, during their individual recruiting journeys, Eliyah Flores chose OU over Tennessee and Washington, while Alycia selected the Sooners over Arizona, Florida, Arizona State, Maryland, and Cal State Fullerton.
The Oklahoma roster now lists 23 players leading into the 2021 season.
