Team Canada standout Erika Polidori will be inducted into the Oakland University Athletics Hall of Honor on January 24th.
Polidori played her collegiate career at Oakland, suiting up for the Golden Grizzlies from 2011-14. She earned all-conference honors in each of her four seasons on the squad, suiting up at catcher and in the outfield during her collegiate career.
Twice a first-team all-conference selection – notably, in two different conferences, the Summit League and Horizon League following a realignment – Polidori ranks in the top four in ten career statistical categories, including second all-time in batting average (.337) and slugging percentage (.545).
In 2014, Polidori was nominated for the Senior CLASS Award.
Since 2013, Polidori has starred for Team Canada, competing for the national team consistently since that time. In 2015, she led Team Canada with a .455 batting average, as the squad won the Pan American Games gold medal, and was part of the Canadian roster that qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
In addition to leading her team back to the Olympic program, Polidori sits on the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Softball Division Board, serving as an Athlete Representative on the 14-member panel.
Polidori is one of seventeen individuals who will be inducted into Oakland’s Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor as part of the class of 2020. This year’s induction is the school’s first since 2016, and includes one representative from each of the Golden Grizzlies’ varsity sport offerings.
