Texas A&M assistant coach Kara Dill has been named the head coach of the Manatee Squeeze in the Florida Gulf Coast League.
The Squeeze finished as league runners-up during the FGCL’s inaugural season this past summer. The team finished the summer season with a 17-6 overall record.
Dill has served on staff at Texas A&M for four years, and is the team’s pitching coach. She previously served on staff at LSU and with the professional Scrap Yard Dawgs. As a player, Dill finished in the top ten in Kentucky history in four statistical categories and earned a pair of all-SEC honors.
“A summer league like the FGCL is long overdue for collegiate softball players,” Dill said in an FGCL release. “The opportunities provided by the FGCL for athletes to grow and compete is unmatched. I’m thrilled to be part of league this summer! Building on the success of the Manatee Squeeze by connecting with the athletes, helping them develop their skill set and enhance their confidence are all things I’m looking forward to in the 2021 season.”
