Four members of the Wright State softball team have entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, JWOS has learned.
Alexia Hilling, Madison Mills, Madison Nunez, and Madison Whitaker have entered their names in the portal within the last week, sources informed JWOS. Whitaker and Nunez’s names appeared on February 13th and 14th, respectively, while Hilling and Mills’ names were both entered on the 18th.
During the 2019 season, Whitaker finished third on the Raiders’ roster with a .278 batting average and led the squad with a .437 slugging percentage and five home runs. Nunez started fifty-two games in 2019, batting .263, with twenty-six RBIs and a .320 on-base percentage. Mills appeared in thirty-three games last season, starting twenty-two of them, and batted .194. Hilling made thirty-two appearances, starting six games, and finished the year with an on-base percentage of .118.
For 2020, as the Raiders began the season 0-5, only Whitaker has made a single start, making an appearance in the starting lineup in three games. The remaining trio – Hilling, Mills, and Nunez – have all appeared this season, but did not start.
All four players had been removed from the Wright State online roster as of Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders now show seventeen active players on their roster.
