Brenna Moss, who enjoyed a stellar career at Fresno State and spent several years as a professional player, has announced her retirement.
Selected in the 2015 National Pro Fastpitch draft by the Chicago Bandits, Moss spent five years as a professional player, including being selected the league’s Player of the Year in 2018. She also earned the Offensive Player of the Year trophy that same season, and helped lead the organization to a pair of league championships during her tenure.
During her career at Fresno State, Moss was a 3-time all-Mountain West honoree. She twice earned a nod to the all-region second-team and was named the 2014 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year. Throughout her career as a Bulldog, Moss regularly ranked among the nation’s top players statistically, including a .439 batting average in her senior year that ranked in the top 40 across Division I.
The speedy outfielder posted a perfect fielding percentage in her sophomore season, registering only ten field errors during the entirety of her collegiate career, good enough for a .975 career fielding percentage. She owns the Fresno State all-time program record for stolen bases with 104 swiped bags to her credit.
Moss’ announcement marks the fifth member of the 2019 Bandits’ roster to announce their retirement since the team’s summer season ended; she joins pitchers Rachele Fico and Paige Lowary, as well as infielders Jenna Lilley and Alyssa DiCarlo in that category.
