Van Faussien spent the 2019 season as an assistant coach at Pittsburgh. In his new position, he will work with the Georgia Southern offense.
During the 2019 season, Van Faussien shepherded the Panthers to a .244 team batting average, while the squad hit fifty-five home runs and posted a .402 slugging percentage.
Prior to joining the staff at Pittsburgh, Van Faussien spent a single season as the volunteer assistant at Georgia, where he was part of the coaching staff that led the Bulldogs to a berth in the Women’s College World Series.
In addition to his softball coaching experience, Van Faussien has a lengthy resume from the baseball dugout. He spent time on the coaching staffs at Clemson, Liberty, and Southeastern Louisiana.
At Georgia Southern, Van Faussien completes a staff makeover this summer under head coach Kim Dean. The Eagles posted an overall record of 23-28 during the 2019 season, with a 9-17 mark in Sun Belt conference play. The program posted a cumulative slash line of .261/.428/.348 (batting average/slugging percentage/on-base percentage).
