Sharon Perkins has been hired as the head coach at Georgia Southern, the school announced on Saturday.
The hiring of Perkins follows the departure of Kim Dean, which was announced on May 18th.
On the collegiate level, Perkins was most recently the head coach at Georgia Tech, a tenure that ended in 2013. She has most recently coached in the travel ball and private lesson arenas.
Perkins owns a career record of 290-138 at the collegiate level, which includes a 7-year tenure as head coach at Georgia Tech. She led the Yellow Jackets to three conference titles and six postseason appearances during her tenure.
Prior to taking the helm at Georgia Tech, Perkins spent time on staff at Georgia and Southern Miss.
